Challenge Samorin - The Championship

The Championship in Šamorín is a traditional season opener for me. I felt 100% prepared for the race, but the weather completely surprised me. Water below 13°C meant a shortened swim of 750 meters, plus an air temperature of around 10°C and rain.

In the water, the only goal was not to freeze. Taking off the wetsuit and putting on cycling shoes with frozen hands was a huge challenge. The cycling went smoothly, although I rode the whole time alone in the rain and cold. When I started the run, I couldn't feel my toes, but I still set a constant pace of 3:30/km and maintained it until the finish. It was a great test of resilience and a quality start to the new season.
